——Mr. Wang Lequan, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of CPC, secretary of the Party committee of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, and the Party and administrative leaders of Xinjiang Autonomous Region talked with Mr. Chen Jinghe, president of Zijin Mining Group, and his companion.
On 10 July 2008, Mr. Wang Lequan, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of CPC, secretary of the Party committee of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, led Mr. Nur Baikli, vice secretary of the Party committee of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, chairman of Xinjiang Autonomous Region Government, Mr. Yang Gang, vice secretary of the Party committee of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, standing vice-chairman of Xinjiang Autonomous Region Government, Mr. Nurlan Abdumankin, member of the standing committee of the Party committee of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Mr. Kurexi Maihesuti, member of the standing committee of the Party committee of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, vice chairman of Xinjiang Autonomous Region Government, Mr. Hu Wei, vice chairman of Xinjiang Autonomous Region Government, and Mr. Zhang Jixun, director of National Resources Committee of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, and other officers to have a talk with Mr. Chen Jinghe, president of Zijing Mining Group and his companion in Urumqi.
At first, Mr. Chen Jinghe, president of Zijin Mining Group Co. Ltd., made a brief introduction of development status of Zijin Mining Group to leaders of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, and looked back a great development of Zijin Mining Group since it came to Xinjiang in 2002. In the past 6 years, Zijin took part in exploitation of mineral resources such as Ashele copper mine, Mengku iron mine and Uqiaulagen lead-zinc mine etc. In addition, Zijin invested a large number of funds into geological exploration in Xinjiang and obtained a plentiful achievement. In these years, investment made in total was 2683 million Yuan (RMB), sale turnover was 5500 million Yuan, all kinds of taxes were 1200 million Yuan, and more than 4100 job posts were provided for local people. Based on such concepts as “wealth from harmony” and “enterprise — employees — society coordinating development”, Zijin paid high attention to safety and environment protection, positively returned Xinjiang and carried out new rural construction of socialism around mine, he added.
Mr. Wang Lequan fully confirmed and gave high praise to quick development of Zijin Mining Group coming into Xinjiang in a short time. He stressed that Zijin did well many work indeed and made an important contribution to local economic development since coming into Xinjiang in 2002.
When talking about future development, Mr. Chen Jinghe, president of Zijin Mining Group, said that Zijin Mining Group was planning to make its Northwest Mining Co. become an investment center, management center, logistics center, talent center and important growing component of Zijin Mining Group in northwest region and Central Asia. Mr. Wang Lequan gladly said that Zijin Mining Group is an enterprise with sense of responsibility, so Xinjiang Autonomous Region has high trust and confidence in development of Zijin Mining Group in Xinjiang. Meanwhile, Zijin is an enterprise doing well work indeed, and we’ll fully support Zijin. He pointed out that Zijin is a good cooperating partner of Xinjiang, and Xinjiang is a good cooperating partner of Zijin. Each party has many opportunities of succeeding cooperation and development. He hopes Zijin would be top one in Xinjiang, in the whole country and in the world.
Mr. Nur Baikli, vice secretary of the Party committee of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, chairman of Xinjiang Autonomous Region Government, gave praise to Zijin’s achievement in Xinjiang, and to Zijin’s contribution to economic and social development of Xinjiang. When talking about two-party relationship, he pointed out: “It can be said that the relation of Zijin with Xinjiang Autonomous Region and Xinjiang people is very intimate”. As for further development of Zijin Mining, based on Xinjiang, in Central Asia, he stressed that Xinjiang is the best base for Zijin Mining in developing Central Asia region, so Xinjiang Autonomous Region will give an all-around support to Zijin Mining. How high Zijin’s confidence in doing great work is, how high degree of Xinjiang’s support to Zijin, he added. His speech gave a great encouragement to Zijin’s development in northwest region and Central Asia region.
Mr. Kurexi Maihesuti, member of the standing committee of the Party committee of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, vice chairman of Xinjiang Autonomous Region Government, pointed out: “Under the support of the Party committee of and government of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Zijin Mining Group has won a great development in Xinjiang”. Meanwhile, he gave high praise to Zijin for its work plan that came true in a shorter time. He stressed that Xinjiang Autonomous Region will give a full support to Zijin and ensure development of Zijin in Xinjiang.
This talk continued for more than one hour. After talking, Mr. Wang Lequan gave a dinner for Mr. Chen Jinghe, president, and his companion.
