Sino-Tajikistan Witness Co-operative Signing

Dushanbe, Aug. 27 – Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd has singed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation with Tajikistan government resulting from Chinese Leader Hu Jintao’s visit to Tajikistan. The signing ceremony was held in the newly-built President Palace. Visiting Chinese President Hu Jinto and his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rakhmon attended the singing at the scene, witnessed the important moment of Zijin Mining’s overseas expansion.

The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation was singed by Mr.  Chen Jinghe, the Chairman and President of Zijin Mining Group, and the representative of the Republic of Tajikistan, Gui Hillary, the Minister of Energy and Industry.  According to the memorandum, Zijin Mining Group will consider Tajikistan as one of the main countries in its overseas expansion scheme. On the basis of the Joint Venture of Zeravshan Co., Ltd, Zijin Mining Group will work with the government of the Republic of Tajikistan to establish a long-term partnership. The two parties will also seek the cooperation in the fields of foreign economic and mining industry to intensify the work of geological survey and to enlarge the investment in mining development.

Earlier, the President of Tajikistan Rakhmon met the Chairman of Zijin Mining Group Chen Jinghe during his presence of Olympic Games in Beijing. “We see a very bright future of the cooperation with Zijin! Tajik government is very confident about Zijin and its development strategies.” President Rakhmon said with pleasure.

Zijin Mining Group is a large-scale mining enterprise focused on the exploration and development of gold and base metal resources. The group’s subsidiaries are located in 20 provinces of China and 8 foreign countries. Zijin is currently the largest gold producer in China and possesses the greatest amount of mineral resources in China.
