On the morning of Oct 15th, President Arroyo of the Republic of the Philippines has a friendly meeting with Board Chairman Zijin and his party of Zijin Mining Group at Malacanang Presidential Palace, President Arroyo highly praises Zijin Mining for the worldwide-attention development it has achieved in recent years.
Arroyo indicates: Philippines has rich mineral resources, while Zijin Mining possesses abundant funds and the advantage of mining exploitation management, both parties have their own advantages complementary to each other, are mutually beneficial, cooperate and together win, to boost the Philippine-Chinese friendly cooperation and development. President Arroyo expresses her warmhearted congratulations on the Philippine Government and Zijin Mining Group establishing a long-term strategic cooperation partnership, welcomes and fully supports Zijin Mining’s investment in Philippines, and believes that Zijin Mining can successfully replicate and create “Zijinshan Gold Mine-like” excellent mines in Philippines.
Board Chairman Chen Jinghe represents Zijin Mining’s development to President Arroyo, expressing that Zijin Mining will positively carry out the spirit of the Strategic Cooperation Memorandum, take Philippines as one of the most important countries for investment, exercise Zijin Mining’s capital and management advantages, and positively participate in the development of Philippine major mineral resources. Board Chairman Chen Jinghe expresses his condolences to the Philippines over the huge losses caused by the typhoons Ketsana and Parma recently, and on behalf of Zijin Mining donates 200 thousand US Dollars of beneficence to the Philippine Government.
After the conversation, the Memorandum of Understanding between Republic of the Philippines Government and Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd on Establishing Strategic Cooperation is signed between Jose L. Atienza, Secretary of the Philippine Department of Environment and Natural Resources, on behalf of the Philippine Government, and Chen Jinghe, Chairman of Zijin Mining Group.
