An exciting news came from Xinjiang Ashele Copper Co., Ltd just a couple of days ago: An important achievement has been made in the in-pit bore JZK1306 of downhole operation, the drilling of the hole was started from the 542.30m elevation in the pit (450.98 meters from the earth’s surface), and at the bore depth of 516.20—587.00m appears one layer of ore copper sulfur deposit, with the apparent thickness of the ore body being 70.80 meters, the true thickness 61.31 meters, the Cu average grade 3.00%, the Zn grade 0.71%, the S grade 48.88%, the Ag grade 23.93g/t, and therein at the bore depth of 516.20—530.00 meters (the apparent thickness 13.8 meters), the copper average grade is as high as 5.27%.
The JZK1306 bore is in the north of the #I ore zone of Ashele Copper Mine, the ore body occurs in the mid-acidic tuff in the 2nd lithologic section immediate member of the Ashele Group, mainly consisting of sericitization and siliconization. The finding of a high-grade copper core body of large thickness in the deep indicates that the ore body I is not closed in the deep, and shows that Ashele Copper Mine has a considerable ore prospecting future in the deep, which is of a great significance to the enhancement of the company’s values.
