Tajik President met with Chairman Chen Jinghe

The Zijin Mining Group delegation, led by Chairman Chen Jinghe, visited the Republic of Tajikistan at the invitation of National Investment Commission and State-owned Assets Administration of the Republic of Tajikistan.

On December 21, Emomali Rakhmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, met and held a friendly talk with Chairman Chen Jinghe and the delegation of Zijin Mining Group at Presidential Office. Chairman Chen Jinghe briefed the progress of all projects Zijin Mining Group developed in Tajikistan. He pointed out that Zijin Mining Group has made a breakthrough in low-arsenic sulfide minerals in Taror, which is on the top of processing and metallurgy difficulty list throughout the world, and in processing and metallurgy tests of high arsenic ore and oxidized ore with normal production indicators, helping the establishment of initial processing and metallurgy technology program. In 2009, its gold production exceeded 800 kg for profit of US$ 1.5 million. With further technological innovation, the production will increase to 1.5 tons in 2010, and the production capacity will reach 4-5 tons per year in the next three years, to further realize economic benefits. Chairman Chen Jinghe also said the Group will actively participate in the development of other mines in Tajikistan and make its due contribution to promote the economic development of Tajikistan. President Rakhmon expressed appreciation for the achievements of Zijin Mining Group has made in Tajikistan, and said he would continue to support the development of Zijin Mining Group in Tajikistan and hoped Zijin Mining play a great role in the economic construction of Tajikistan.

Mr. Chen Jinghe and the delegation also visited Ambassador Zuo Xueliang and Commercial Counselor Li Yue of Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Tajikistan. Ambassador Zuo Xueliang and Commercial Counselor Li Yue presented recent political and economic situation in Tajikistan, and gave specific guidance for Zijin to develop in Tajikistan, and promised they will continue to support Zijin Mining Group, China's largest investor in Tajikistan, for further development in Tajikistan.
